This small Languedoc town borders the Canal du Midi, just a few kilometers from the historic center of Béziers. It’s the ideal starting point for boat trips on the canal. There’s also a floating tourist office, housed in a former gabare.
Don’t miss a visit to the church of Saint-Étienne-de-Villeneuve from the campsite, as well as the château tower. Villeneuve-lès-Béziers is the ideal destination if you fancy a meal on the terrace of a waterside restaurant. From Villeneuve, you can also rent electric or thermal boats for independent cruising on the canal: the Écocanal agency offers 5- or 7-seater boats, without a permit, for rental for one hour, two hours, half a day or a whole day. Bicycles are also available for hire, to take you along the banks of the Canal du Midi from Villeneuve-lès-Béziers to the heart of Béziers.
