Values of a committed campsite in the Hérault region
The history of camping
Created in 1983 by the Coumelongue family, Camping La Plage et Bord de mer has always reinvented itself while remaining true to its family values. From the installation of the swimming pool to the arrival of Hyppocampo in 2014, each step has left its mark on our history. In 2023, our CSR approach earned us the Green Key label, reinforced the following year by the arrival of our CSR mascot, Coccy, symbol and messenger of our sustainable actions.

Our values, our DNA
Our campsite in the Hérault is a place of relaxation and pleasure for our customers, but we are aware that our activity can have negative impacts on the environment. We are therefore determined to promote sustainable and responsible management of our activities to minimize these impacts and protect our planet. With this in mind, we have drawn up this Environmental Charter, which sets out our objectives, actions and commitments in favor of the environment. We hope that this charter will serve as a guide for our customers, our staff and our stakeholders in making responsible decisions that respect the environment.
Because vacations should be a time for sharing, open to all, we also make accessibility a core value in our DNA. We ensure that everyone, whatever their age, situation or specific needs, can take full advantage of our facilities and services. This commitment is part of our drive to offer a warm, inclusive welcome that respects diversity.
Our CSR approach
- Water management: recycling of wastewater to water plants, rainwater harvesting, installation of water-saving taps and automatic flow regulators in showers.
- Waste management: recycling and composting systems at the campsite, sorting systems in mobile homes and for bare pitches, especially near all sanitary facilities.
- Energy use: installation of charging stations for electric cars. Use of electric carts and scooters for staff. Reducing electricity consumption by installing presence detectors for lighting in washrooms, and solar lighting for walkways.
- Protection of biodiversity: maintenance of the vegetable garden and involvement of customers and staff in its upkeep. Elimination of all pesticides in the upkeep of our green spaces. Raising awareness of the local ecosystem.
- Awareness-raising and training: training staff in sustainable environmental practices and raising customer awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
Committed camping Responsible camping
Recommended actions for rational consumption
- Water management: remember to use water responsibly, for example by limiting showers and turning off taps when not in use. In the event of a water leak, please report it to us.
- Waste management: sorting garbage cans are available in all mobile homes and next to all sanitary facilities, and please remember to use them correctly. Don’t forget, organic waste goes to compost!
- Energy use: it only takes a click to reduce our energy consumption, so remember to turn off your lights when they’re not needed.
- Transport: let’s limit our carbon footprint, in particular by encouraging the use of soft forms of transport (bikes, scooters, walking…).
- Preserving nature: don’t forget to dispose of your garbage in the designated areas. Let’s preserve our seaside and our campsite.
